Inspiration: I am a pet owner and faced problems while booking an appointment.
Some of my friends and relatives also faced same problems thus, I began thinking of an app to solve this problems faced by pet owners.
MY APPROACH
The main purpose of this app was to solve the problems faced by pet owners such as booking an appointment or getting variety of food supply to satisfy their pets demands. User research was an important part to get to a solution to meet their demands and to provide them with the solution they are happy with. The interface is carefully designed based on the research and users proclivity.
USER RESEARCH
I conducted this survey online through google forms and main focus was on problems such as booking vet appointments, access to variety of food, medical emergencies. Respondents included my friends, relatives and neighbors who are pet owners.
These are some of the questions which I used for user research to understand their problems in a better way
Are you a Pet owner?
Which Pet do you own?
Do you have a trainer for your pet?
What do you do during medical emergencies for your pet?
Why do you not prefer booking your appointment with the vet online? What are the problems you face?
Do you forget your pet's vaccination dates? If yes, after how much period of time do you tend to complete it?
How do you search for pet hostel?
What kind of features will you like to have in an app dedicated to pets?
INSIGHTS FROM THE SURVEY
According to the survey many of the special needs for the pet included something related to “food”. So, it will be a better option if they see different food brands on the home screen
Owners tend to wait in the line instead of booking them online or calling and booking. If the owners are able to book an appointment online with some easy steps, they might start booking it online
In spite of forgetting the vaccination dates 15% managed to complete the vaccination in 15-30 days. Adding a calendar will help them remind.
64% owners preferred Homemade food.
Only 4 owners out of 15 have monthly subscription for food. If the owners get monthly subscription of homemade food, then it will reduce the time required to make or acquire food
Emergency button can be provided to help them in tough situations

DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
From the above research which i conducted through online surveys and making user persons I have derived these design requirements
1)Allow users to see variety of food options including home made food which is difficult to find and also help them with subscription
2)Help users book appointments with their vet with easy steps and set up reminder in calendar for yearly vaccinations
3) Emergency option is provided to help pets and strays during emergencies by calling nearby animal aid centres or their doctors
4) Easy to understand interface

LEARNINGS FROM THE PROJECT
I learned how to generate questions , how to analyze those questions properly, how to design interface which will help pet owners to complete their tasks with ease.
While doing a project a designer needs to understand their user well to get to a solution.
I designed interfaces and learned from my mistakes while reviewing. Design is the process which needs continuous iteration to make it better, which I learned and applied while doing this project.
WHAT I WAS ABLE TO ACHIEVE
Because of this app users can achieve their goals to book a vet appointment, access to variety of food supplies and book a trainer with ease to complete the needs of their pets
