Starting out as a designer
Starting as a designer can make you anxious and you may feel how to enter this field of design. I think that design can be best learned from working on projects and you should be involved fully in those projects. If you are doing your own project for portfolio then you should first learn the process of the design and it may take time at first but as you move through the project you will get to used to it.
Competitor analysis
While developing a product or a service it is important to understand your competition and against whom you will be competing. If you design a product without doing proper research then you might miss the insights which you can gain beforehand and save time and effort. What you think will sell in the market might not be the case that's why beforehand competitor analysis is important.
UX laws
I think designing for users can be tricky because there are many types of users you need to keep in mind before designing a product. As a designer you tend to find those average users, what I mean by average users is people who are neither professional nor they are newbie. As a UX designer you should also keep in mind the extreme use cases, but the overall design is around the average users.
How I think Designers should work
I always think that designers have the knowledge of scientific thinking and know how to use creativity to develop products. Designers should think of solving the problem by finding the problem first, because I think that it is much difficult to find the problem rather than thinking of the solution. Designers should change the approach of their thinking of only producing a glossy product and giving it a aesthetic finish and should work on solving the root problem.
